Fellowship: Trauma Surgery, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey

Dr. Odom is board-certified in general surgery and has a wide range of medical interests. His expertise includes repairing large hernias and he sees patients from all over the state. Dr. Odom founded our practice in 1994, along with Dr. Mark Blankenship. He has served as president of the medical staff at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital and is a member of many professional societies including Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Training the next generation of surgeons is a priority for Dr. Odom. He has been named Teacher of the Year at the Medical College of Georgia on three separate occasions was instrumental in bringing the Mastery of General Surgery Fellowship to St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital.

Dr. Odom grew up in rural Georgia and attended Georgia Southwestern College where he majored in zoology. He went to medical school at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and finished his medical training at the New York Medical College. Dr. Odom also completed fellowship training in Trauma Surgery at Rutgers University.
